Situated at the mouth of the Deba river, in the most western area of Gipuzkoa, the town of Deba forms part of the Debabarrena region.
It has a land area of 51.9 square kilometres and a population of 5,480. Deba's traditional tourist offering, its beautiful landscapes and its rich and ancient cultural heritage and exquisite cuisine are today reinforced by a wide range of guided tours, activities and leisure and entertainment services to satisfy the most demanding visitor. Together with Zumaia and Mutriku, it forms part of the UNESCO Basque Coast Geopark.
